“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” I Timothy 4:1.
The Celtic “Church Militant”
In Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland, stands the West or Tall Cross. This pagan Celtic cross is 23 feet tall, has a pyramid base, a rectangular shaft culminating in a capstone, and a large circle enclosing the arms of the cross, representing the sun, the life cycle, wholeness, the cycle of seasons, and harmony between male and female.
Among the many scenes carved on this cross is a blasphemous scene depicting Jesus Christ armed with a sword, shield and spear standing with a group of armed men. This abomination is referred too as “the last judgment” or “the church militant.” http://www.bluffton.edu/~sullivanm/monaster/monaster1.html
Those with discernment will recognize the pagan Celtic Apostolic Church’s false teaching of the “church militant” is well entrenched in apostate groups such as the Mighty Warriors, New Breed, The Call, Jesus Army, Joshua Generation, Joel’s Army who teach “God has a remnant of young people whose heart burns for Him. They have been raised for such a time as this. At JATC [Joel’s Army Training Center], you will not only be trained in biblical doctrine, but equipped as endtime warriors executing vengence upon the adversary,” and those who advocate raising boys to become modern-day knights.
In 1997, Focus on the Family, published a book titled Raising A Modern-Day Knight: A Father’s Role in Guiding His Son to Authentic Manhood, by Robert Lewis. This best selling book has made major inroads into the promotion of the Knights Templar and the endtime apostate “church militant” by subtly introducing fathers and their sons to European medieval warrior knights, including Knights Templar William Marshal, along with Celtic myths, mystical rites and ceremonies.
The dust cover of Lewis’ Raising A Modern-Day Knight should be a red flag to any Christian father as it depicts King Arthur’s magical sword Excalibah with a seal just below the hilt of the sword which, when using a magnifying glass, a Celtic mythical winged dragon circled by “EXCALIBAH KING ARTHVR can be seen. Lewis brings further attention to the mystical Celtic legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table when he wrote:
“And who among us as boys didn’t thrill to the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table? The knight survives in our collective consciousness like an ancient superman…In fact, I will be so bold as to argue that knighthood–despite some of its shortcomings—offers to any dad a powerful outline for his son’s successful journey to manhood.” (Raising A Modern-Day Knight, p. 12.)
It should be of serious concern to any Christian father that Robert Lewis has chosen Knights Templar William Marshal as a role model for their son’s “successful journey to manhood.”
“William Marshall’s life is a study in chivalry. For good reason, contemporary historians regard him as the ideal knight.” (Raising A Modern-Day Knight, p.44.)
Britain’s “ideal knight”:
Sir William Marshal, also known as William of Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke, while on a crusade with the Knights Templar vowed to join their order. On his deathbed Sir William fulfilled his vow and was invested into the order of the Knights Templar. Sir William Marshal died on May 14, 1219, and was buried in the Round Church of the Knights Templar’s Temple Church in London. http://www.enotes.com/topic/William_Marshal,_1st_Earl_of_Pembroke
It should also be of concern that the cover of Lewis’ RMDK Leader’s Guide includes a Knights Templar cross. (RMDK Leader’s Guide, Robert Lewis and Sonlight Productions.) http://www.moderndayprincess.com/RMDKLeadersweb.pdf And the cover of Raising a Modern-Day Knight Training Guide and Devotional depicts a shield with the Cross of Lorraine (ancient cross of the Knights Templar.) http://rmdk.com/raising-modern-day-knight-training-guide
Along with the promotion of the Knights Templar, Lewis encourages Christian fathers too return to the wisdom of medieval paganism by becoming bonded with other men through the mystical power of ceremony.
“In the Middle Ages, pages and squires became knights because they were part of a masculine community. At an early age, the page left home and entered into a mentoring relationship with an older man, usually a cousin or an uncle… Boys become men in the community of men. There is no substitute for this vital component. Dad, if your boy is to become a man, you must enlist the community…the community of men expands a son’s spiritual and moral sources… Bonded through the mystical power of ceremony, [they] become mentors to these young men. (Raising A Modern-Day Knight, pp. 150- 151.)
The following is an excerpt of a mystical ceremony Robert Lewis suggests Christian fathers may wish to use for their sons “rite of passage” into manhood. This pagan ceremony also promotes the unscriptural dominionist agenda of advancing God’s kingdom on earth.
“CHOOSE A PLACE THAT FEELS SPECIAL AND EXCITING—The dads on the video choose to do their ceremony outside, at night, around a fire. You might choose an outdoor setting like this or one indoors using a darkened room lit with candles or a fire place for ambiance. Whatever setting you choose, it should add a special feel to the ceremony not detract from it. It should feel mysterious, sacred, special!
AS THE LEADER, BEGIN THE CEREMONY—After going to your ceremony location circle the dads and sons together…At this point you must bring out and hold up an “Excalibah sword”….the sons will love this!…to illustrate two things: That each dad is ready to commit to “fight the good fight” of helping his son to become a modern-day knight. A son who…Advances the kingdom of God on earth.
INTRODUCING DAD’ PLEDGE—After each father has spoken, you as the leader will take the sword, hold it up, and say that each dad wants to commit himself tonight to his son…
THE DADS PLEDGE…When a dad is called out, he and his son will come into the middle of the circle where you will hand him the sword. He takes the sword and grips it. His son places his hands over his dad’s. Then as each dad looks into the face of his son, you as the leader will ask him to repeat after you these words: I——, before God, commit myself to raise you—–, to be a modern-day knight…” RMDK Leader’s Guide, SAMPLE DAD’S CEREMONY, Robert Lewis and Sonlight Productions. http://www.moderndayprincess.com/RMDKLeadersweb.pdf
Page, Squire and Knight
Jeff Purkiss, founder of Squires2Knights Ministries, a network of ministries equipping Christian men to mentor our sons, fatherless boys, teenage boys, and young men, as well as the author of a book titled Squires to Knights-Mentoring Our Teenage Boys, is also a proponent of raising boys to become modern-day knights along with mystical modern-day knighthood ceremonies where boys are presented with medieval crusader swords. And, like Robert Lewis, he too promotes the Knights Templar, which is evident when visiting his website which has numerous pictures of young men in Knights Templar garb, as does the cover of his book. http://mentoringourboys.com
In Standard Freemasonry, know as Blue Lodge Masonry, there are three degrees of initiation: Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craftsman and Master Mason. Chivalric orders like the Knights Templar operated on a similar system of graded initiation with Page, Squire and Knight.
Another connection to the Knights Templar was found on Jeff Purkiss’ website posted under “5 Responses to Modern-Day Knighthood Ceremony.” This revealing e-mail was from Chaplain Paul Ready. On May 17th, 2008, Ready wrote:
“ Reverend Brother:
I am a military (civilian) chaplain with a number of organizations. The Sovereign Order of Christian Knights Templar provide the tradition, while others, such as Fellowship of the Sword, offer ceremonial guidance to our men and women serving as Christian Combatants on the fields of battle. We provide everything necessary for the Vigil at Arms, including Sword, Dagger, clothing, ring and shield for serious Christian Warriors intent on deepening their walk with the Lord. Any information you care to share would be prayerfully appreciated.
In His Name and Service,
Brother Paul Ready, Prior,
Priory of Solomon’s Porch,
Sovereign Military Order of Knights Templar”
http://mentoringourboys.com/2008/05/07/modern-day-knighthood-ceremony/ Predictably, this website is no longer available at this time.
This response included a link (Chaplain Paul Ready) to a Knights Templar website which shares the following:
“We are a religious Order of knights, who trace the history of our Order back to ancient Scotland, where brothers of our Order fought under the banner of Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn. The Templars under the edict of the Church of Rome fled from France to Scotland, where they continued the works they believed they had been called by Christ to complete. We, as their spiritual descendents, carry on that work. Our mission, as we believe imparted to us by DivineProvidence…” http://smockt.org/knight
Further evidence of the Knights Templar/Raising a Modern-Day Knight connection was brought to light by a member of the Knights Templar when he said:
“When we learned that Jameson was going to be a boy, his paternal grandparents Janet and Ken Richardson gave me a book about raising a son to become a real Man using the chivalric ideals of medieval Christian knighthood as inspiration and a role model. This book by Robert Lewis is called Raising A Modern-Day Knight…
I started reading this book to Jameson yesterday and look forward to raising him to be my young Page, then a Squire or young Knight in training, and then someday hope to witness his investiture as a fellow Knight in the Knights Templar of Jerusalem.
One of my proudest moments as an adult Man was the day that my father attended my investiture as a Knight in the Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem or Knights Templar…” http://newportcoastfamily.blogspot.com/2008/12/raising-modern-day-knight.html
In their pagan Celtic book The Grail Castle: Male Myths and Mysteries in the Celtic Tradition, authors Kenneth Johnson and Marguerite Elsbeth, also use the Celtic legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable to promote personal transformation into manhood.
“Many Celtic Warrior heroes of old felt the powerful absence of the Father spirit in their lives, and many men of today find themselves in the same situation…Few Celtic myths describe for us a deep relationship between father and son. In many cases, the father is entirely absent…Percevel’s father, a knight, was slain years before the beginning of the story…and King Arthur’s father Uther Pendragon actually gave his son up to be raised in the woods…In their fatherlessness, these Celtic heroes have a special relevance for us in the twentieth century…” (The Grail Castle, pp. 22-23.)
One of the main objectives of raising a modern-day mystical/warrior/monk is to remove children from parental authority by turning then over to mentors.
“Traditionally we must seek out a mentor among those who have followed the same path we seek to follow: if we aspire to be accountants, we must learn about the art (and the way of life it implies) from an older, wiser accountant. A mentor is not the same as a father. Our fathers are too close to us to play the role of mentor or initiator. For that task, a certain amount of detachment is required, both on the part of the mentor as well as his apprentice. This is because children (especially Warrior Children) tend to reject the aspirations held for them by their parents.” (The Grail Castle, p. 26.)
“My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:” Proverbs 6:20.
Graduate of Oral Roberts ( 33 degree freemason) University, Gabriel Swaggart, leader of the apostate Crossfire Youth Ministries, subtly introduced the attendees of his 2012 International Youth Conference to the warrior/knight agenda with graphics used in an advertisement promoting this gathering. The graphic depicts a crimson and gold fringed banner with a pagan Celtic cross (Crossfire Youth Ministries logo), a head of a knight with a crown which has three horns, along with a clear message that these young people are “Warriors for Christ.” See the June, 2012, p. 19, July, 2012, p. 19, and August, 2012, p.19, editions of The Evangelist published by Jimmy Swaggart Ministries at: http://www.jsm.org/the-evangelist.html It should also be noted that Monday Night Fire, a college, career, singles, couples ministry led by Gabriel Swaggart, uses a black and white medieval crusader shield as their logo.
At this late hour there are many organizations who are encouraging Christian fathers to follow in the footsteps of medieval warrior knights inorder to raise godly children. This, Church of Jesus Christ, is an abomination unto the Lord!
One of these organizations, Band of Brothers, admitted to the connection between the pagan British Celtic Apostolic Church and raising warrior children when they wrote:
“We only sell products that we believe have real value in helping men live out the call on their lives. We are big believers in symbols, that remind us of our mission.” http://bandofbrothers.org/about
Included in their products is a “Young Warrior Pendant” for boys ages 10-17. This is recommended as a gift for boys as part of their “Rite of Passage” into manhood. The pendant is a sword shaped pagan Celtic cross ( Band of Brothers logo.) http://bandofbrothers.org/band-of-brothers/rite-of-passage-pendant-for-your-son
Furthermore, the Celtic Prayer Foundation have not only given Robert Lewis’ book Raising A Modern-Day Knight a two page book review, but when clicking through their site to purchase this book, they will then receive a portion of the sales to help maintain their pagan website.
It is fearful that these false prophets exalt the medieval warrior knights as righteous men when their lifestyle included drunkenness, bloodshed, debauchery and occult rituals that included the worship of Baphomet the satanic goat.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20.
It is equally fearful when one considers the statement made by Robert Lewis published in a Focus on the Family magazine.
“I believe it is time to resurrect the chivalrous knight: his ideas, his process and his ceremonies. I want him to speak to a new generation that has the potential for greatness but lacks only the opportunity: our sons.” (Focus on the Family Magazine, June, 1997.)
Much prayer is needed for the children who are being led as lambs to the slaughter. And once again the question must be asked, why the deafening silence from the frontline discernment ministries regarding raising boys to become mystical/warrior/monks?
To the body of Christ who have been deceived into following these false prophets and their doctrines of demons the Word of God declares:
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Ba-li-al? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said I will dwell in them, and walk in them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord.” II Corinthians 6:14-18.
These are the last days and the only question which remains critical at this point is are you ready for the close of the Church Age and the glorification and gathering together of the body of Christ?
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.” I Thessalonians 4:16-17.
You can be sure right now by repenting of your sins and putting your faith in Jesus Christ who paid the full penalty for the sins of the world by shedding His precious blood on the cross. Your trust in Him alone for your salvation can assure your receipt of this blessed atonement.
